Nov content update: New Sections

Updated: Dec 23, 2021

From our regular updates and your feedback, we have made the follow content updates.

New Section: "Talking about warning signs with the person"

As part of the Topic "Getting a diagnosis", it is important to discuss the warning signs of dementia with the person. This can be difficult and/or sensitive.

This Section contains links to a video and article on how to plan and have this conversation.

New Section: "Other professional support for the person's health and well-being"

We had previously curated a Section to introduce health professionals involved in a dementia diagnosis. However, we have never created one for professionals who are involved in the person's ongoing care and support.

The new Section "Other professional support for the person's health and well-being" offers information about who could be involved in the person's medical and non-medical care. This can help carers and care professionals start to involve other professionals to provide more holistic care.

It is located under the Topic "Healthy living and ageing for the person", or you can search for it under the "All info" tab.

Section update for "Managing your stress" (for carers)

We have added a new resource to this Section from Alzheimer's Association USA, including how to recognise symptoms of carer stress and care strategies.

It is located under the Topic "Looking after the carer's health and well-being", or you can search for it under the "All info" tab.
