Nov-Dec update: Carer Gateway NSW partnership, content updates & more

CARER GATEWAY NSW & QLD

We’re deeply grateful to Carer Gateway LiveBetter for recognising carers’ needs and partnering with us to make My Dementia Companion CARER more accessible across South Eastern NSW, Western NSW and Murrumbidgee.

If you’re a carer in these areas, multi-year CARER subscription may now be fully funded by Carer Gateway. Don’t forget, Carer Gateway also offers other valuable help such as respite, coaching, in-person or peer support, counselling and more.

Carers across the country, carers continue to find My Dementia Companion very helpful, whether they are funded through Carer Gateway, NDIS or privately

Getting started is easy and learn more here. CARER subscriptions can now be funded via Carer Gateway in Victoria, almost all of NSW, all of Queensland and the Northern Territory.

CONTENT UPDATE

We’ve continued updating and expanding our resources based on user feedback and system changes. Recent major updates include:

• New “My Aged Care” Topic reflecting the 1 November 2025 Support at Home replacing Home Care Packages and other changes in supplements, residential aged care and respite care, contribution and more

• New Section “When to move into an aged care home?”, including guiding questions for families

• New Section “Keys and dementia”

• New Section “Managing dying and available support”, including suggestions on things to organise before death, what to do afterwards and support available

• Updated Topic “Future Planning: financial matters”, including budgeting, debt, financial counselling and more.

Other minor updates to legal community centre details across all states, respite information, swallowing difficulties, sleeping related challenges and more.

WRAPPING UP 2025

As another year of major changes and challenges comes to a close, we want to thank all our incredible carers, partners, supporters and our small but mighty team. With your support, we are growing from a startup into a scaling organisation ready to support even more Australians.

Some highlights include:

• Being humbly recognised by Carer Gateway across VIC, NSW, QLD and NT, who now fully fund the CARER tool

• Launching the CARER and PRO tools on the App Store and Google Play, making it even easier to access practical support on the go

• Rolling out our widely praised Dementia Toolboxes (thanks Deb)

• Recognition from inspiring organisations such as PALZ, and presenting at community forums including the Manningham Dementia Seminar

• New and deeper partnerships with esteemed organisations such as Carer Gateway partners, CDAMS clinics in VIC and NSW (led by Austin Health & University of Sydney), Dementia Doulas Australia, Dementia Support Australia, StepUp for Dementia Research, NARI, Caladenia Dementia Care and many more

• Continued support from our longstanding partners who make this mission possible
