Current challenges
Dementia is a journey that is confusing, overwhelming and one big maze, which is hard to navigate. So, no wonder we all get easily lost and feel alone.
There's a lot, I mean a lot of information out there. Lots of advice. Lots of stuff to sift through. Reading through a stack of brochures, searching online with millions of results, or trying to find someone on the phone when you need it, doesn't fit with your commitments, or the time you have. which is precious.
Sadly without a cure for dementia, we have to learn ways to navigate the care system to get support and learn new skills to cope at home.
How does the CARER tool help
My Dementia Companion CARER helps by simplifying your journey and guiding you on what to do, where to go and how to manage challenges at home. It does this by creating the world's first comprehensive dementia journey to guide you.
Then prompts you along the way by providing relevant, practical, and reliable, suggestions, all in one place at your fingertips, for when you need it, at all hours of the day and night.
It includes videos, links, suggestions, forms, carer Tips and more, tailored uniquely to your situation. And all at your own pace.
You can also search anytime that suits you or when you need it.
The video and more user tips are available in the 'Welcome! Start here for carer basics and more' Topic.
You can ask us for a Support at Home or NDIS invoice or quote, to help you check with your provider to access funding as part of your Care or Support Plan.
If you have any questions, you can always contact us on the 'chat' icon, 'Question?' button or through our website. We know it's not easy being a carer. You do an amazing job and we know the CARER tool will help you along the way.
