Welcome Suzanne

Starting as a passion project with a few volunteers, we are so excited to announce that Suzanne McMeikin has joined My Dementia Companion as the first Dementia Care Excellence Consultant!

Suzanne is joining us as dementia care is so complex and organisations are struggling to advise and support clients on what to do, where to go and how to manage at home, so they can live as long and as independently as they can at home.

As the gap we hope to fulfill is so large, and as our PRO and CARER apps are growing through word of mouth, we needed an experienced professional to help us. With Suzanne's expertise, we can reach even more people to help them live well with dementia.

About Suzanne

Suzanne McMeikin My dementia Companion

We are so lucky to have Suzanne, who has over 9 years of experience at Dementia Australia. She has a passion for helping people to learn more about dementia and during her time at Dementia Australia, she has supported many health services and health professionals to gain a better understanding of dementia through training and consultancy at their Centre for Dementia Learning. Suzanne has over 30 years working in services to the sector including some time previously with LASA (now Aged & Community Care Providers Association, ACCPA).

In her spare time, Suzanne is attempting to play golf and volunteers with Parks Victoria. She lives with her husband, Simon, and their rescue dog, Freddie.

We are so excited to continue advancing dementia care with Suzanne!
